GUI, THE TAG AND THE AVC

DOUBTS ABOUT THE GUI, THE TAG AND THE AVC?

Carrier friend, lately you may have heard concepts like “CAAT”, “UNIQUE GAFETE”, “TAG”, “NOTICE OF CROSSING”.

You will even have heard your colleagues or friends say that the companies they work for or clients for whom they provide services independently, requested them.

But, what are they? In this blog we will briefly explain what they are and what it will do for you to process them.
  • CAAT
  • UNIQUE BADGE
  • TAG
  • CROSSING WARNING

CAAT

“CAAT” stands for Harmonized Alphanumeric Carrier Code.

It is a key that allows carriers to REGISTER their general data, as well as the units they have and the name of the drivers of said vehicle (in case of land).

This REGISTRY is used so that the carrier can enter or extract merchandise from the national territory, that is, enter and exit customs with his vehicle.

UNIQUE BADGE

The Unique Identification Badge for Carriers, also known as "GUI", is necessary for those people who provide services or carry out activities within the fiscal or controlled precincts, that is, customs.

The GUI for Carriers is an electronic device that has the capacity to store information and profiles of the companies that are previously registered. Its use is mandatory if you wish to enter the Customs to which you request authorization.

TAG

The TAG is a device that must be permanently installed on the windshield of units that transport foreign trade goods. These have a radio frequency sensor (RFID) that transmits the information when requested by a UHF reader.

Through these technologies, when Customs scans the TAG, it will automatically be linked with the Crossing Notice and therefore, it will be known very precisely what you are transporting.

Land transport companies and cargo vehicle owners must install the TAG on each vehicle and update the information. Additionally, they will be responsible for the correctness of the data registered and sent for updating.

CROSSING WARNING

The NOTICE OF CROSSING is the electronic document linked to the customs documentation that will be presented at the dispatch of the goods.

Those required to capture the NOTICE OF CROSSING are the legal representative, customs agent, customs agency, legal representative or customs agent, who must transmit the necessary information to the Customs Electronic System.

VUCEM

It is important to point out that, at least for those dedicated to land transport, the CAAT and the GUI must process it through the VUCEM website, so, among other requirements, the most important is TO HAVE AN E. SIGNATURE, since, Being an eminently electronic procedure, IT CAN ONLY BE DONE ON THAT PAGE.

Without E. SIGNATURE, they will not be able to carry out the CAAT and GUI procedures.

As far as the TAG is concerned, it is necessary to acquire it from the authorized companies or confederations.
It seems complicated, but with the correct guide, investing in these procedures can bring you more benefits in the future, more work, since you will enter the VIP of the carriers that can enter Customs.
