The unipersonal patent with which customs agents currently work will change to a corporate patent, in line with what has been developed in other countries such as the United States.
The main objective of this patent is to ensure the continuity of the investments that customs agents have made in their companies, in the event of a death or permanent disability of the holder, since according to a previous official provision, as of next November, no longer they may appoint a substitute agent.
"The Secretary (of Finance and Public Credit), Luis Videgaray, has instructed the General Administration of Customs and the SAT so that together with Caaarem we work in a figure that allows them to achieve this objective," said Núñez in his speech during the inauguration of the 77th National Congress of Customs Agents.
In Mexico there are just over 900 customs agents who currently work in the different points where foreign trade activities are carried out, most of them linked to the Caaarem and who not only carry out customs activities but have been incorporating more logistics services to their businesses .
